Paint By Numbers by Liam Lee

Brooklyn-based artist and Loewe Craft Prize finalist Liam Lee brings a hand-worked, painterly language to textiles — not an easy translation into a contract manufacturing process. HBF Textiles committed to a two-year partnership to get it right rather than fast. I scouted Lee as a fit for the brand and managed the collection through every stage, from product development to launch.

The result is a four-pattern collection — Magic Eye, Pointillist, Gridwork, and Impasto — each developed alongside Lee's studio practice, supported by a full 360° launch campaign spanning trade press, social, and a dedicated NYCxDesign 2026 debut. The collection has won four industry awards including the NYCxDesign Award for and received over 20 press mentions, with more to come.
